At Northamptonshire Children’s Trust (NCT), our Duty and Assessment Team (DAAT) plays a vital role as the first point of contact for all safeguarding concerns regarding children and young people across the county.



We’re looking for skilled, compassionate, and confident Social Workers who thrive in fast-paced, dynamic environments and are passionate about protecting children and families. If you’re someone who enjoys working collaboratively, making quick, sound decisions, and building strong relationships – and you appreciate a supportive team who knows how to have fun – this could be the perfect next step in your career.



What You’ll Be Doing:





  • Respond to new referrals from professionals and the public regarding children at risk or in need




  • Carry out robust, short-term child and family assessments




  • Make informed decisions on next steps including service provision or case transfer




  • Work closely with partner agencies to ensure immediate, joined-up support




  • Ensure the child’s voice is always at the centre of your work




  • Contribute to a strength-based, trauma-informed approach to practice

  • 6 lively and hard-working DAAT teams




  • Each led by a Team Manager and Advanced Practitioner, supporting Social Workers, Seniors and NQSWs
