Job summary

Essex County Council in Harlow is recruiting a Social Worker for Assessment & Intervention in West Essex. The role is permanent and full-time with a salary of £36,124 to £51,834 per annum.

The position involves mobile work across Essex and beyond, with a focus on safeguarding and short-term interventions for Children in Need and their families. The role supports newly qualified social workers through ASYE and requires registration with Social Work England, a social work degree, and flexibility

Qualifications

• Diploma or degree in social work, CQSW, CSS or equivalent with registration with Social Work England.
• Knowledge of Professional Capability Framework (PCF) and Knowledge & Skills Statement (KSS).
• Ability to apply social work knowledge with emotional intelligence and analytical skills.

Responsibilities

• Manage a defined caseload, working directly with children, young people and families/carers.
• Conduct enquiries, assessments and purposeful interventions to achieve positive change and outcomes.
• Undertake direct work and reviews in relation to Child Protection, CIN and Children Looked After.
• Support children in achieving permanency, including those in the care of the local authority.
