Job summary

Essex County Council is recruiting a Social Worker for Assessment & Intervention in South Essex, Basildon. This permanent, full-time role offers a salary of £36,124 to £51,834 per year and includes progression through nine entry points.

The post supports children and families, with early help and safeguarding duties, requiring a social work qualification and registration. Flexible working and a nine-day fortnight are available for frontline staff.

Qualifications

• Professional social work qualification and registration are required.
• Ability to apply professional standards with emotional intelligence and analytical skills.
• Good IT literacy and use of social work case recording systems.
• Flexibility to work occasional evenings and weekends.

Responsibilities

• Manage a defined caseload across CIN and safeguarding within Children’s services.
• Carry out assessments and brief interventions with families and children.
• Collaborate with police and partners to assess and respond to risk.

Education

Diploma or degree in social work, CQSW, CSS or equivalent
