Job summary

We are looking for a Band 5 social worker to join our established and dynamic team. You will be working within a friendly multi-disciplinary team with young people across both our inpatient and day service CAMHS provision. The environment can be both challenging and exciting; experience working with this client group is desirable but not essential.

The successful candidate would have a passion for social work, working across agencies and as part of an MDT.

Mill Lodge is a CAMHS Tier 4 inpatient service working with young people aged 13-18 years of age. You will be based in York but there will be expectations for you to occasionally travel within the Trust. The team provide a flexible service to meet the needs of the young people.

Telephone discussions and / or visits prior to interview are encouraged.

Interviews will be held on 23rd May 2025.

Main duties of the job
  • You will be a skilled, effective practitioner acting with considerable autonomy.
  • You will have an in-depth knowledge of the relevant legislation relevant to this client group.
  • You will possess the knowledge, skills, and experience to safeguard vulnerable children following the principles of Making Safeguarding Personal and developing robust protection plans.
  • You will have the ability to communicate effectively and work as part of a multi-disciplinary team
  • You will need to network and liaise with a wide range of professionals and other colleagues, including at more senior levels.
  • You will need to manage a caseload and offer expert opinion inside and outside the organisation.
  • You will be skilled in carrying out mental capacity assessments and holding best interest meetings.
