The Fostering Team provides placements for children and young people in care within Warrington. The team is responsible for recruitment, preparation, assessment, training, supervision, and support of Foster Carers.
The team aims to offer placement choices for children and young people in care, emphasizing stability to ensure positive outcomes. The quality of foster placements is central to providing children and young people with a high-quality family life experience. The service continuously strives to provide sufficient placements, supporting foster carers to develop their skills to meet the needs of children in their care.
This role involves recruiting, assessing, and supporting potential foster carers, including friends and family foster carers. The social worker will engage in multi-agency work with children in care and collaborate closely with safeguarding and children in care teams. Experience with children in care, family and friends placements, and fostering assessments is preferred.
This position oversees our supported lodgings scheme, including conducting initial assessment visits, supervision, and support visits. The role is for a fixed term of 12 months.
