Job summary

Charles Hunter Associates is seeking an experienced Children's Social Worker to join the MASH team in a safeguarding context. You will carry out initial screening and risk assessments in a fast-paced, multi-agency environment.

Applicants must hold a recognised Social Work qualification and have at least three years' post-qualifying experience with a UK local authority; a driving licence and access to a vehicle are required. Hybrid working and a rate of £38 per hour PAYE are on offer.

Qualifications

• Recognised Social Work qualification (Degree, DipSW or CQSW) with at least three years' post-qualifying experience.
• Frontline children's services experience is essential.
• Valid UK driving licence and access to a vehicle.
• Non-case-holding role with structured 9-5 hours and supervision every 4 weeks.

We are looking for an Experienced children's Social Worker to the MASH team.

About the team:

This service supports vulnerable children who may be at risk of significant harm and need protection, acting as the first point of contact for safeguarding concerns. The MASH team reviews referrals, gathers information from partner agencies and helps identify the right support or safeguarding response for each child and family. Social Workers complete initial screening and risk assessments in a fast-paced, collaborative environment. This is a non-case-holding role with structured 9-5 hours and regular management oversight.

About you:

We are looking for an experienced, enthusiastic and committed Social Worker who can work effectively within a children's service. Applicants must hold a recognised Social Work qualification, such as a Degree, DipSW or CQSW, and have a minimum of three years' post-qualifying experience. Previous frontline children's services experience is essential, alongside a valid UK driving licence and access to a vehicle.
