Gateshead Council is seeking a compassionate, skilled, and committed Learning Disability Social Worker to join our dedicated adult social care team. About the Role:

In this vital role, you will:

• Complete strengths-based assessments and create personalised care and support plans.
• Advocate for individuals with learning disabilities, ensuring their needs, rights, and aspirations are fully recognised and supported.
• Work closely with families, carers, health professionals, and community services to deliver holistic, integrated support.
• Regularly monitor and review care plans, making timely adjustments based on evolving needs and circumstances.

What We’re Looking For:

• Qualified Social Worker registered with Social Work England.
• Experience supporting adults with learning disabilities in statutory social care settings.
• Strong skills in assessment, planning, and collaborative working.
• Excellent communication, advocacy, and problem-solving skills.
• A proactive, person-centred approach and the ability to work independently or within a team.
• Competitive daily rate of £193.75 – £201.50 per day
• Hybrid working: only 2 days a week required in the office
• Be part of a supportive and forward-thinking team
• Contribute to inclusive, empowering social care practice in the community
