Job summary

Nottinghamshire County Council is seeking a qualified Social Worker to join the Children and Families Department in a frontline, countywide service. You will work with children and families in need, providing care, protection and support, including cases under Child in Need, Child Protection, and Care Proceedings.

You will conduct assessments, coordinate with health, disability family support, and education services, and prepare reports for meetings and court hearings.

Qualifications

• Professional qualification in Social Work (recognised degree).
• Registration with Social Work England.
• Solid understanding of child development, family systems, and relevant legislation.
• Relevant transferrable experience in supporting children and families.

Responsibilities

• Conducting thorough assessments to identify the needs of children and families.
• Collaborating with disability family support services, health, and education to deliver tailored packages of support.
• Supporting disabled children who are cared for by the local authority.
• Preparing formal reports for meetings and court hearings to explain assessment outcomes and interventions.

Are you a qualified Social Worker looking to make a meaningful difference? The role involves working countywide in a frontline service that provides care, protection, and support to children and young people with diverse needs. You will work with children and their families who are receiving support via child in need or child protection, families going through the care proceedings process and more, including children who are supported under the Mental Health Act, ensuring that every child receives the support they deserve.
