Job summary

Pertemps Southampton on the Isle of Wight invites a creative Social Media Executive to bring the brand to life across Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, LinkedIn and YouTube. You will develop engaging content from concept through shooting, editing, copywriting and publishing.

Based in Ryde, this hybrid role offers £30,000–£35,000, with 22 days’ holiday, Bupa Healthcare and staff discounts. Expect events, shoots and activations, plus a flexible Monday–Friday schedule from 9am to 5pm.

Qualifications

• 1–2 years of experience in social media or content creation.
• Strong understanding of trends and digital culture.
• Creative with a constant flow of ideas and ability to edit content.
• Ability to shoot and edit short-form video and photography.
• Strong copywriting across platforms.
• Knowledge of Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, YouTube.
• Organised with ability to manage a content calendar.
• Full UK driving licence preferred.

Responsibilities

• Manage day-to-day social channels across Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, LinkedIn, YouTube and emerging platforms.
• Develop and deliver an engaging social content calendar across brand, product, lifestyle, campaign and reactive content.
• Create scroll-stopping Reels, TikToks, Stories, photography and short-form video, from idea through to final edit and publication.
• Shoot and edit content independently using a smartphone and/or camera, with tools such as CapCut, Canva, Adobe or similar.
• Keep up with social culture, identifying trends, sounds, creators and opportunities for reactive content.
• Write engaging copy that captures the Mermaid tone of voice and is tailored to each platform.
• Support campaigns, product launches and influencer/creator activity across social channels.
• Attend events, shoots and activations to capture real-time content and bring brand moments to life.
• Monitor social performance and use insights to continually improve content.

Social Media Executive

Pertemps are currently recruiting for a creative and social-savvy Social Media & Content Executive to join leading business based on the Isle of Wight and bring the brand to life across social media.

This is a role for someone who lives and breathes social, someone who understands what makes people stop scrolling, knows the latest trends and formats, and can turn a great idea into engaging content from concept through to shooting, editing, copywriting and publishing.

Responsibilities as a Social Media Executive:

• Managing the day-to-day social channels across Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, LinkedIn, YouTube and emerging platforms.


• Developing and delivering an engaging social content calendar across brand, product, lifestyle, campaign and reactive content.


• Creating scroll-stopping Reels, TikToks, Stories, photography and short-form video, from idea through to final edit and publication.


• Shooting and editing content independently using a smartphone and/or camera, with tools such as CapCut, Canva, Adobe or similar.


• Keeping your finger on the pulse of social culture, identifying trends, sounds, creators and opportunities for reactive content.


• Writing engaging copy that captures the Mermaid tone of voice and is tailored to each platform.


• Supporting campaigns, product launches and influencer/creator activity across social channels.


• Attending events, shoots and activations to capture real-time content and bring brand moments to life.


• Monitoring social performance and using insights to continually improve content, while keeping creativity at the heart of what we do.

Requirements:

• Minimum of 1-2 years experience in social media or content creation


• Lives and breathes social media, with a strong understanding of trends, creators and digital culture.


• Naturally creative, with a constant flow of ideas and a strong instinct for engaging social content.


• Confident creating short-form video, photography and social-first content, from shooting through to editing.


• Strong copywriting skills and the ability to adapt tone and content for different platforms.


• Good knowledge of Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, Pinterest and YouTube and how audiences behave differently across them.


• Organised and able to manage a content calendar while reacting quickly to new opportunities.


• Comfortable using social analytics to understand performance and improve future content.


• A strong creative portfolio or examples of social content will be an important part of the application process.


• A full UK driving licence is preferred, with flexibility to travel to events, shoots and activations when required.

The Social Media Executive role:

• Monday - Friday, 9am - 5pm (must have flexible to attend events/ meetings)


• £30,000 - £35,000 depending on experience


• Hybrid working option (Minimum of 2 days on site in Ryde, Isle of Wight)


• 22 Days holiday, increasing with every full year of service (max 26 days)
