Job summary

Milk Education is recruiting Social & Emotional Support Assistants to work across Gateshead primary schools, supporting pupils who may need extra help with emotional wellbeing, behaviour and learning. This is a great opportunity to gain classroom experience or secure a long-term role in education.

Ideal candidates will have experience with children, a caring, patient approach and a Level 2/3 qualification in childcare or education.

Qualifications

• Experience working with children or in an education setting (preferred)
• Level 2/3 qualification in childcare, education or a related subject (preferred)
• A caring, patient and positive approach
• Understanding of SEND and additional needs
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills
• A genuine passion for helping children succeed

Responsibilities

• Providing one-to-one and small group support
• Helping pupils develop confidence, communication and independence
• Supporting positive behaviour and emotional wellbeing
• Working alongside teachers and other professionals
• Following safeguarding and school policies

Skills

Experience working with children or in

Level 2/3 qualification in childcare,
