Job summary

Milk Education is seeking an Education Support Assistant for a primary school in Killingworth. You will work alongside the class teacher to support pupils' learning, development and daily engagement in school. This long-term, full-time role starts ASAP and offers ongoing opportunities with a dedicated consultant.

The ideal candidate will have experience with children, a patient and positive approach, and strong teamwork and communication skills. SEND experience is desirable but not essential.

The Role

As an Education Support Assistant, you will work alongside the class teacher and wider school team to support pupils with their learning, development and day-to-day engagement in school.

You could be supporting individuals, small groups or the wider class, depending on the needs of the school.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Supporting pupils with their learning and development
• Providing one-to-one and small-group support
• Assisting the class teacher with classroom activities
• Supporting pupils with additional needs where required
• Encouraging positive behaviour and engagement
• Building strong, trusting relationships with pupils
