An established industry player is seeking compassionate individuals to join their team in a part-time role focused on personal and social care. This position involves working flexible hours, including early mornings, late shifts, and weekends, to support service users in maintaining their independence at home. Based within a locality team, you will work part-time, 25 or 30 hours per week, with split shifts that include a 7 am start, late shifts, and weekends. You will have SVQ2 or the ability to undertake training to achieve this award within a specified timeframe. You must be able to register with the Scottish Social Services Council within a specified time.
You will assist in maintaining service users in their own homes in the community by attending to their assessed personal and social care needs. You will assist service users and carers in improving their quality of life.
You will have past or present caring experience to a high standard, either through life or work experience. You will possess good written and oral communication skills, be able to work as a team member, and also work independently using your own initiative. You will have assessment skills and be able to understand and meet the needs of people living in the community. You will show sensitivity and understanding when dealing with vulnerable people, maintaining a non-judgemental, caring, pleasant, and professional approach. You will be dependable and have a reliable attitude towards work. You will be required to work a range of shifts, including split shifts, evenings, weekends, and occasional nights. A full, current driving licence is required. You will be required to pursue further study or training. This post is considered Regulated Work with Children and/or Protected Adults under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. Preferred candidates will be required to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG Scheme update check prior to a formal offer of employment being made by Dundee City Council.
