Job Description

Based at various locations across the city, you will work part time for Dundee City Council Home Care team. We have a mixture of posts, 25 hours or 30 hours, and this can be discussed at interview or prior to applying if you require more information.

Requirements

• You will have SVQ2 or the ability to undertake training to achieve this award within a specified timeframe.
• You will have the ability to be registered with the Scottish Social Services Council within a specified time.

Responsibilities

You will assist in maintaining service users in their own homes in the community by attending to their assessed personal and social care needs. You will assist service users and carers in improving the quality of their life.

The Individual

• You will have past/present caring experience to a high standard, either life or work experience.
• You will have good written and oral communication skills, be able to work as a team member and also work independently, using your own initiative.
• You will have assessment skills and be able to understand and meet the needs of people living in the community.
• You will be able to show sensitivity and understanding in dealing with vulnerable people and be non-judgemental, with a caring, pleasant, and professional approach. Reliability and dependability are essential.
• You will be required to work a range of shifts, including split shifts, evenings, weekends, and occasional nights.
• A full, current driving licence is required.
• You will be required to undertake further study/training.

This post is considered Regulated Work with Children and/or Protected Adults under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007.
