Job summary

Bath and North East Somerset Council is seeking a motivated Technical Officer to join the Social Care Payments Team. You will provide first-line technical and operational support for ContrOCC and help ensure payment processes run smoothly.

You will work with Adult and Children’s Social Care, Commissioning, Brokerage, Finance and IT to improve services, log incidents, support system improvements and maintain accurate records.

Qualifications

• Excellent customer service and communication skills.
• Experience diagnosing and resolving system or process issues with a solution-focused approach.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Provide first-line support for social care payment systems.
• Act as a point of contact for system users and stakeholders.
• Diagnose technical and process issues, applying known solutions and workarounds.
• Log, manage, and monitor incidents and service requests.
• Support administration, maintenance, and continuous improvement of social care payment systems.
• Produce and maintain records, reports and audit trails to support performance and compliance.
• Identify recurring issues and recommend service improvements with the Senior Technical Officer.
• Support compliance with policies, data protection and information governance.
• Assist with projects, testing activities and system developments.
