Job summary

Comhairle nan Eilean Siar is advertising a Social Care Assistant position at St Brendans (3327). This permanent post is 37 hours per week and pays £30,758 to £31,935 per annum, inclusive of £2,997 Distant Islands Allowance.

You will work as part of a team to support Adults with Support Needs to participate in local resources, maximise inclusion and meet planned outcomes. The role requires SVQ II in Care (or equivalent), PPE use, and PVG membership.

Qualifications

• SVQ II in Care (or equivalent) or ability to undertake and achieve this qualification within 36 months after registration with SSSC.
• Ability to listen effectively and communicate clearly, and to work as part of a team.
• Wearing and use of PPE is required.

Responsibilities

• Promote and support Adults with Support Needs to actively take part in local resources and facilities.
• Support inclusion, independence and planned outcomes across various settings, including overnight support where necessary.
