Job summary

The University of Bath is seeking a Cyber Security Operations Analyst to join the Security Operations Centre and protect university systems and data. You will be responsible for monitoring, detecting and responding to security events, applying standard security controls and supporting risk-based decision making.

You will review processes, work with vendors, and contribute to continuous improvement of the university's security posture.

Qualifications

• Broad knowledge of security risk and assurance practices across frameworks (ISO 27001, Cyber Essentials, NIST CSF, OWASP).
• Experience with regulatory responsibilities for universities, including GDPR and PCI DSS.
• Broad technical knowledge of security tools, interpretation of outputs and applying recommendations.
• Experience measuring performance of security controls to reduce incidents and protect data.
• Understanding of reducing risk across third parties and supply chain.

Responsibilities

• Respond to and resolve security events and incidents across the SOC.
• Identify vulnerabilities, deploy mitigations and escalate where needed.
• Review security processes and configurations to maintain security posture.
• Participate in change approval boards and collaborate with vendors.
