Job summary

The University of Bath is seeking a Cyber Security Operations Analyst to join the team responsible for the Security Operations Centre (SOC). You will operate security controls in line with ISO 27001, NIST CSF and Cyber Essentials, perform risk-based decision-making and maintain the security posture across university systems and services.

You will respond to security events, identify vulnerabilities, and work with vendors to implement mitigations.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of security risk and assurance practices (ISO 27001/Cyber Essentials/NIST CSF).
• Experience with regulatory/compliance responsibilities for higher education.
• Ability to measure security controls effectiveness and reduce incidents.

Responsibilities

• Respond to and resolve security events and incidents.
• Identify vulnerabilities and deploy mitigation tactics.
• Review security processes and advise on improvements.
• Oversee security elements of delivering new products/services into live environments.
