Job summary

Ecotricity is seeking a Commercial Debt SME Assistant to manage SME energy debt, maximise cash collections and minimise bad debt. You will report to the Commercial Debt SME Team Leader and work with B2B colleagues in a regulated, quality-driven environment.

The role emphasises fair treatment of customers, vulnerability considerations, and collaboration across debt-related workstreams. Hybrid working and a healthcare plan are among the benefits.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in a Collections environment, ideally from an Energy background.
• Multiskilled and flexible to fluctuating workloads in a fast-paced environment.
• Numerate and analytical skills for root cause analysis.
• Enthusiastic about people and helping customers.
• Excellent listening, verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to organise workload and multiple priorities; work on own initiative.
• Be a team player and demonstrate appropriate behaviours.
• Intermediate Excel skills required.
• Competent in using all other MS Office packages.
• Maintain a positive learning environment for you and colleagues.

Responsibilities

• Handle inbound & outbound calls in line with quality and productivity KPIs.
• Meet Dunning targets and individual KPI targets.
• Ensure SME customer base complies with industry regulations.
• Investigate and resolve all complaints within agreed time scales.
• Resolve queries from internal and external customers within set timescales via multiple channels.
• Prepare accounts for handover to Escalations Team with accurate data.
• Meet KPI targets for SME debt performance.
• Negotiate and communicate payment plans with customers for fair outcomes.
• Manage vulnerability and affordability in line with regulatory requirements.
• Identify high risk or delinquent SME customers and escalate as needed.
• Collaborate with business peers to prevent blockages to collections across processes.
• Potentially undertake other project-based work across Ecotricity group to sustain service quality.
