Stride Resource Management Ltd in Gloucester is seeking an experienced Commercial Account Handler to own the day-to-day servicing of SME and mid-market clients, working closely with Account Executives on renewals and new business.
You will manage workloads, build relationships with clients and insurers, and use your technical knowledge to handle policy queries and requirements, with a view to progressing as the branch develops.
The role will give you ownership of the day-to-day servicing of commercial clients while working closely with Account Executives on renewals, new business and ongoing client requirements.
You will be trusted to manage your workload, build relationships with clients and insurers and use your technical knowledge to make sure each account is handled properly. As the branch develops, there should also be opportunities to broaden your responsibilities and progress your career alongside it.
For someone who enjoys Account Handling but wants more visibility, closer involvement with senior colleagues and a clearer route to develop, this should offer more than a straightforward servicing position.
Your responsibilities will include:
You are likely to be working as a Commercial Account Handler, Client Advisor or Commercial Broker and already have experience dealing with SME or mid-market risks.
You should have a good understanding of core commercial covers and be comfortable handling renewals and adjustments with a reasonable degree of independence.
Experience across areas such as property, liability, commercial combined, fleet and financial lines would be useful, although you do not need to be a specialist in every class.
The role will particularly suit someone who wants to develop technically and take on greater responsibility rather than remain in a heavily process-driven Account Handling position.
You will be joining an established insurance broking group with a long history in the UK market and a strong focus on personal advice, specialist expertise and long-term client relationships.
The Gloucester operation is at an earlier stage of its development, which creates a different opportunity from joining an already mature office. You will be able to work closely with the people building the branch, contribute to how the team develops and grow your own role as the local client base expands.
There is also a strong emphasis on professional development, making this a good environment for someone who wants to continue building their technical knowledge and progress within commercial insurance.
The salary is up to £45,000 depending on experience, alongside a wider benefits package and support with professional development.
The role is based in Gloucester and operates on a hybrid basis, with an expectation of three days per week in the office.
