Job summary

Centrica plc is hiring a Metering Apprentice to install and repair smart meters, support customers in energy management, and gain hands-on experience alongside experienced engineers.

This apprenticeship starts with a salary of £16,698, increasing to £40,133 upon completion, with locations across the UK including Scotland, Northern England, and Wales.

Applicants should have at least 4 GCSEs and a full UK driving licence. Training and travel support will be provided.

Qualifications

• 4 GCSEs, ideally including Maths & English.
• Mechanical or technically minded with a genuine passion for learning a trade.
• Full UK driving licence with no more than 6 points.
• Availability to attend training at one of our four UK academies.

Responsibilities

• Install and repair smart meters.
• Explain and support customers to maximise their energy use.
• Visit homes to help people feel comfortable with new technology.
• Work alongside experienced engineers.
