Job summary

Oxford University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a Speech and Language Therapy Support Worker (Band 3) on a part-time basis (22.5 hours per week, ideally Wed/Fri). The role supports adult neuro-rehabilitation and outpatient neurological services under supervision of a Speech & Language Therapist.

The successful candidate will work as part of a multidisciplinary team, preparing therapy resources, assisting in therapy sessions, and providing administrative support to SLTs in a busy

Qualifications

• Excellent standard of written and spoken English.
• Computer literate; good ability to use Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and perform computer tasks.
• Knowledge of Speech and Language Therapy procedures gained through experience or self-directed learning.
• Knowledge of Speech and Language Therapy procedures gained through formal training, NVQ3 or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Carry out routine therapeutic interventions with patients who have communication/eating and drinking difficulties under SLT supervision.
• Demonstrate communication strategies to families and carers using high and low tech aids.
• Support SLTs by planning/running therapy groups and preparing resources.
• Provide clinical administrative support including materials preparation and data collection.
• Develop personalised SLT resources in collaboration with the team.
