Oxford University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is hiring a part-time Band 6 Speech and Language Therapist for neurorehabilitation and AAC. The role covers two days at the Oxford Centre for Enablement across inpatient/outpatient neurorehabilitation and one day in the community supporting AAC services in Oxfordshire.

The post offers development opportunities within a multidisciplinary team to deliver high-quality care to adults with complex brain injuries and long-term neuro-disability.

Qualifikationen

• HCPC registration as a licensed SLT.
• Experience working with adults with complex neurological conditions and/or AAC.
• Valid UK driving license.

Aufgaben

• Assess, diagnose and manage a specialist caseload of adults with complex acquired communication disorders and dysphagia due to acquired brain injury and progressive neurological illnesses.
• Provide specialist AAC assessment and intervention to adults with communication difficulties across Oxfordshire.
• Select and deliver high-quality assessments and evidence-based interventions.
• Work within the multidisciplinary team (MDT) and participate in MDT meetings to support planning and discharges.
• Independently manage a clinical caseload and make autonomous decisions regarding patient care.
• Provide second opinions to colleagues as needed.
• Contribute to audit, quality improvement and service development initiatives.
• Provide teaching and supervision to other healthcare professionals.
• Cover caseloads for other SLTs during annual/sick leave.
• Collaborate with SLTs across the stroke pathway to ensure continuity of care.
• Engage in continued professional development to improve specialist skills.
• Demonstrate problem-solving skills with IT equipment.
