Job summary

NHSGGC seeks an HCPC-registered Speech and Language Therapist with a focus on learning disabilities. The role sits within an integrated MDT, delivering patient-centred interventions and specialist skills during transition periods and challenges.

The post offers a permanent, full-time contract (36 hours/week) with a 9am-5pm pattern, base location Drumchapel. Visa sponsorship may be considered for eligible roles following interview and verification processes.

Qualifications

• HCPC registration as a Speech and Language Therapist is essential.
• Experience working with individuals with learning disabilities is required.
• Knowledge of assessment and management of dysphagia is essential.
• Experience using AAC systems and strategies is required.
• Ability to train and support others in communication support techniques.
• Commitment to continuing professional development with advanced opportunities.

Responsibilities

• Provide communication support as part of an MDT.
• Assess and manage dysphagia and swallowing difficulties.
• Utilise AAC strategies to support communication.
• Deliver training on communication support approaches.
• Support individuals with learning disabilities during transitions and challenges.
• Collaborate with MDT colleagues to deliver high-quality patient-centred care.
