Job summary

Cygnet is recruiting a Highly Specialist Speech and Language Therapist (Band 7 equivalent) to lead an evidence‑based SLT service for adults with learning disabilities and autism in the North East.

You will manage a clinical caseload (3 days p/w) across Hollyhurst and nearby homes, supervise junior SLTs, train staff, and contribute to service development with the Research & Development team.

Qualifications

• Experience in Learning Disabilities including Autism Spectrum Disorders.
• Knowledge of low tech/high tech AAC.
• Ability to assess and manage eating, drinking and swallowing needs (desirable).
• Ability to supervise a junior SLT.
• Strong team player with a genuine desire to help others.

Responsibilities

• Lead on delivering an evidence‑based SLT service within a complex client group.
• Train others, promote best practice and embed inclusive environments.
• Supervise junior SLT and provide mentoring across multiple homes.
