Job summary

Pulse Healthcare is seeking an experienced Paediatric Special School Speech and Language Therapist to join a specialist setting in the North East of England. You will support children and young people with learning disabilities, ASC, and complex communication needs, including AAC, to improve functional communication.

This Band 6/7 role requires HCPC registration and a degree in SLT. Flexible working options include part-time, with initial full-time for up to six months.

Qualifications

• Degree in Speech and Language Therapy or equivalent
• HCPC registration and eligibility for RCSLT
• Experience with children with complex needs: PMLD, ASC and AAC
• Strong communication, teamwork and clinical reasoning skills
• Flexible, proactive and reflective practice

Responsibilities

• Assess, diagnose and manage SLCN in children and young people with complex needs
• Deliver and review individualised therapy programmes including AAC
• Collaborate with teachers, support staff and families to embed communication strategies
• Maintain accurate clinical documentation in line with HCPC and RCSLT standards
• Contribute to multi-disciplinary meetings, reviews and care planning
