Job summary

East Coast Community Healthcare CIC is seeking a Specialist Speech and Language Therapist to provide expert assessment and intervention for adults with dysphagia and communication disorders. You will manage a defined caseload, develop treatment plans, and write detailed reports while adhering to CQ3 and HCPC professional standards.

The role includes supervising juniors and contributing to audits and service improvement.

Qualifications

• HCPC registration on the relevant professional register.
• Experience supporting student placements and supervision is desirable.
• Strong understanding of dysphagia and communication disorders.

Responsibilities

• Adhere to CQ3 and HCPC standards for professional practice.
• Manage own caseload including screening, prioritising, assessing and discharging patients.
• Provide assessment, diagnosis, goal-setting and treatment plans, with self-management strategies.
• Write clinical reports and contribute to audits and quality measures.
• Supervise juniors, volunteers and assistants when appropriate.
• Offer education to carers and other professionals about communication and swallowing strategies.
• May provide training and supervision to SLT students and junior staff.
• Attend staff and team meetings and contribute to service planning and policy discussions.
