Job summary

Lancashire Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust seeks an experienced Speech and Language Therapist with specialist knowledge in dysphagia to join our SLT team. You will work in MDT settings, deliver targeted assessments and interventions, and contribute to governance and service development.

The role requires HCPC and RCSLT registration, CPD evidence, and experience in inpatient/outpatient dysphagia management. A commitment to equality and high-quality care is essential.

Qualifications

• Specialist knowledge of acquired disorders of communication/voice and dysphagia.
• Experience of managing dysphagia and communication disorders in inpatient and outpatient settings.
• Understanding of roles of other health care professionals and working in a multidisciplinary team.
• Experience in audit and research.
• Clinical educator.

Responsibilities

• Actively promote high-quality service delivery and promote SLT presence in MDT working.
• Deliver a wide range of specialist SLT treatment and management options.
• Undertake specialist assessment, differential diagnosis and clinical reasoning with clear EPR documentation.
• Contribute to management of complex disorders with support from a senior specialist SLT.
• Participate in instrumental assessment.
• Communicate effectively in a variety of settings.
• Advise on AAC methods where appropriate.
• Support CPD for staff.
• Support equality of opportunity for staff and patients.
• Support clinical governance and quality agenda.
