Job summary

Unlocking Language is seeking a Band 6 Speech and Language Therapist to work across clinic and school settings in Southwark. The role offers a balanced mix of school-based, clinic, and SEN primary school placements, with a supportive MDT and opportunities to contribute to EHCP reviews.

The ideal candidate is HCPC registered, has 2+ years' experience in diverse settings, and is skilled in AAC. The post is full-time with potential part-time consideration and a salary range of £41,500–£46,500 per

Qualifications

HCPC registered Speech and Language Therapist with a degree in Speech and Language Therapy.
Experience working in a special school setting or with children with complex communication needs.
Knowledge and experience of AAC (Augmentative and Alternative Communication).
Minimum of 2 years experience.
Passionate about working with children and young people in diverse educational settings.

Responsibilities

Assess, diagnose, and provide therapy for children and young people with SLCN.
Deliver therapy sessions individually and in groups.
Work with teachers, support staff, parents, and professionals to support progress.
Develop and implement communication strategies, including AAC where appropriate.
Write reports and contribute to EHCP reviews.
Provide training and advice to school staff to create a communication-friendly environment.
