Job summary

Royal Devon University Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust is seeking an organised Slot Administration assistant to support Haematology & Oncology clinics in Exeter. The role focuses on booking appointments, coordinating clinics and room usage, and optimising outpatient capacity.

The ideal candidate will have strong admin and communication skills, empathy for distressed patients, and the ability to work well under pressure in a supportive NHS environment.

Job description

We are looking for someone to work in our busy Slot Administration team in Haematology & Oncology. The role will involve:

  • Co-ordinating a professional, efficient and effective appointment booking service to patients and visitors in accordance with Royal Devon University Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust policies and standards
  • Setting up and altering clinics as required and coordinating room availability when requested
  • Maximise all available outpatient capacity in an appropriate way, escalating concerns to the Admin Line Manager and Admin Service Manager

Working Pattern:28 hours Monday to Friday

This is a fixed term contract for 12 months. For current NHS employees this post could be a secondment opportunity.
