Job summary

The Royal United Hospitals Bath NHS Foundation Trust is seeking an Assistant Sleep Practitioner to support the development of a new sleep service in the community. You will assist with sleep diagnostics using Sleep Health Solutions software, be trained in basic diagnostic tests, and help initiate respiratory support treatment.

You will perform sleep questionnaire consultations, prepare diagnostic equipment, and assist with administrative tasks.

Qualifications

• Willingness to undertake professional exams related to sleep diagnostics.
• GCSE or equivalent in English and Maths
• Experience working with people in a healthcare setting.
• Understanding of patient confidentiality and safeguarding procedures.
• Minimum of two years of recent experience in a patient facing role.
• Experience using RUH Clinical Systems.

Responsibilities

• Conduct sleep questionnaire consultations (directly or via telephone) and take relevant measurements (height, weight, collar size), examine the oropharynx (picture guide 1-4, need to pick closest image).
• Prepare and programme sleep diagnostic equipment, explain home sleep diagnostic tests to patients, clean and download sleep study equipment, and assess diagnostic study quality.
• Assist with administrative duties, including booking outpatient appointments, organising tests, preparing labs for daily clinics, and handling patient correspondence.
