University Hospital Southampton NHS Trust is recruiting an Assistant Sleep Physiologist (Band 2) on a permanent, part-time basis (15h/week). The role is based at Lymington New Forest Hospital and involves inpatient and some outpatient duties within the adult sleep service.

Qualifications

• GCSE English and Maths (A-C) and Biology (or other science).
• Strong desire to learn and develop within sleep physiology.
• Excellent communication skills, verbally and written.
• Experience of working with the public.
• Confident speaking to groups of patients.
• Ability to work late and night shifts.
• Ability to work across sites.
• Experience working in NHS and in sleep or respiratory environment.

Responsibilities

• Support Sleep Physiology Team to deliver an efficient inpatient service (one night shift per week).
• Assist with outpatient activity as required.
• Help with diagnostic sleep testing and CPAP support for long-term patients.
• Assist with patient support line, stock management, and equipment maintenance.
• Collaborate daily with colleagues to meet patient and service needs.
