Job summary

Prospero Teaching is seeking a dedicated Specialist SLD Teacher to work in Solihull with children and young people on EHCPs for SLD and PMLD. The role focuses on delivering personalised, engaging learning tailored to individual needs and outcomes.

You will plan differentiated lessons, implement IEPs, support communication and social development, and work closely with teaching assistants, families and other professionals to provide a safe, nurturing learning environment.

Qualifications

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.

Working pattern: Full-time, 5 days per week

Prospero are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Specialist Severe Learning Difficulties (SLD) Teacher to work with children and young people with Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs) for Severe Learning Difficulties (SLD) and Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties (PMLD).

The successful candidate will support pupils with complex learning needs, delivering personalised, engaging and inclusive learning experiences tailored to each child's individual abilities, needs and EHCP outcomes.

Key Responsibilities:

• Plan and deliver differentiated lessons tailored to pupils with SLD and PMLD.
• Implement individual education plans and EHCP targets.
• Support pupils' communication, sensory development, independence and social skills.
• Work collaboratively with teaching assistants, therapists, families and other professionals.
• Create a safe, nurturing and inclusive learning environment.
• Monitor pupils' progress and adapt teaching strategies to meet their individual needs.

Requirements:

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification.
• Experience working with children with SLD, PMLD or complex additional needs.
• A strong understanding of EHCPs and personalised learning approaches.
