Job summary

Mencap is seeking a dedicated Skills Coach to support learners with SEND across workplace and classroom settings. This full-time role involves 1-1 job coaching, developing employability skills, and embedding English and Maths in real work environments.

You will help learners progress toward sustained paid employment, achieve targets, and work within our supportive training academy in Peterborough. GCSEs in English and Maths are required.

Qualifications

• Proven experience supporting individuals.
• Demonstrated ability to achieve targets.
• Strong understanding of safe working practices.
• A good knowledge of the Educational and SEN sectors.
• GCSE English & Maths (A-C/9-4 or equivalent).
• Proficient ICT skills.
• Excellent communication and record-keeping abilities.

Responsibilities

• Provide 1-1 job coaching and classroom support to learners.
• Help learners develop employability skills and embed English/Maths in the workplace.
• Support learning during classroom settings and in the workplace.
• Support learner progression toward sustained paid employment.
