Job summary

Mencap is seeking dedicated Skills Coaches to join our Worcester Service on a permanent basis. You will drive employability programs, including Supported Internships, and provide tailored support to learners with SEND to help them progress in the workplace.

Responsibilities include 1-1 coaching, helping learners develop employability skills, embedding English and Maths in the workplace, and supporting learning in classrooms.

Qualifications

  • Demonstrated ability to achieve targets.
  • Strong understanding of safe working practices.
  • A good knowledge of the Educational and SEN sectors.
  • GCSE English & Maths (A-C/9-4 or equivalent).
  • Excellent communication and record-keeping abilities.

Job description

Do you have experience of working with people with a learning disability? Are you passionate about working for an organisation that drives change? Then we may have the role for you at Mencap Training Academy. You may be a Teaching Assistant or support people in the workplace.

We're seeking a dedicated and self-motivated Skills Coaches (job coaching & classroom support) to join our dynamic team in our Worcester Service on a permanent basis. In this crucial role, you'll be the driving force behind our employability programs, including Supported Internships, providing tailored support to learners with SEND.

You will be accountable for learner progression in the workplace and achieving outcomes for the learner. You will deliver support in various ways; 1-1 job coaching, working with learners to develop employability skills and embed English and Math learning in the workplace. You will also support learning during classroom settings. The role aims to support people to learn the skills they need to go on and achieve sustained paid employment.

What You'll Need (Essential):

  • Demonstrated ability to achieve targets.
  • Strong understanding of safe working practices.
  • A good knowledge of the Educational and SEN sectors.
  • GCSE English & Maths (A-C/9-4 or equivalent).
  • Excellent communication and record-keeping abilities.

£24,785 per annum, pro-rata + excellent benefits
