Job summary

Jark PLC in the Coalville area is seeking skilled Welder/Fabricators to join a leading steel fabrication team. You will fabricate, weld, and assemble structural steel components, reading engineering drawings to produce high-quality frames for modular buildings.

The role involves MIG/MAG welding on mild steel, assembly of frames, and on-site installation support. Applicants should have NVQ 2/3 in fabrication and a CSCS card, with willingness to travel for site work and a strong commitment to

Qualifications

NVQ Level 2/3 in Fabrication & Welding or equivalent.
Valid CSCS Card (or equivalent construction competency card).
Proven MIG/MAG welding experience on mild steel.
Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
Willingness to work away from home for site installations.

Responsibilities

Fabricate structural steel components from engineering drawings.
Carry out high quality MIG/MAG welding on mild steel sections.
Assemble steel frames for modular buildings.
Perform tack welding, final welding and grinding to specification.
Interpret fabrication drawings and work to tight tolerances.
Assist with installation and erection of steel-framed modular buildings on site.
Ensure work complies with quality standards and welding procedures.
Work effectively as part of a fabrication and installation team.
Maintain workstation and tools, and observe PPE and safety procedures.

My client in the Coalville area require x 4 skilled Welder / Fabricators.

About the Role

Are you an experienced Structural Steel Fabricator / MIG-MAG Welder who takes pride in building solid, high-quality steel structures? Join a leading manufacturer where you will bring technical engineering drawings to life. In this role, you will fabricate, weld and assemble structural steel components.

Key Responsibilities

Fabricate structural steel: fabricate structural steel components from engineering drawings.
MIG/MAG welding: carry out high-quality MIG/MAG welding on mild steel sections.
Assemble steel frames: assemble steel frames for modular buildings.
Welding & grinding: perform tack welding, final welding and grinding to specification.
Equipment operation: use fabrication equipment including saws, drills, grinders and hand tools.
Technical accuracy: interpret fabrication drawings and work to tight tolerances.
Site installation: assist with the installation and erection of steel-framed modular buildings on site.
Quality & compliance: ensure all work complies with quality standards and welding procedures.
Teamwork: work effectively as part of a fabrication and installation team.
Safety & housekeeping: maintain your dedicated workstation and tools to a high standard, ensure full procedural compliance, and take genuine pride in workshop cleanliness. Strictly follow all company Health, Safety, Environmental, and Quality systems - this includes wearing correct PPE, participating in briefings, and keeping both the yard and construction sites safe and tidy.

Essential Requirements

Minimum NVQ Level 2 or Level 3 in Fabrication & Welding, Structural Steelwork or equivalent
Valid CSCS Card (or equivalent construction competency card)
Proven experience in MIG/MAG welding of mild steel
Experience in fabrication and assembly of structural steelwork
Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings
Good understanding of fabrication techniques and workshop machinery
Willingness to work away from home when required for site installations
Full UK Driving License
