Job summary

CLS, Contract Labour Solutions, have a fantastic opportunity for 8 Welder/Fabricators with manufacturing experience to work with our client who is an established Steel Structure company based in Wombwell and Shafton.

Candidates will be completing the following tasks: interpret and work from technical engineering drawings, fabricate steel structures using MIG/MAG welding to coded standards, cut, shape, and assemble metal components with appropriate tools, ensuring dimensional accuracy and weld

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a structural steel welder/fabricator.
• Proficiency in MIG/MAG welding; coded welder qualification preferred.
• Strong understanding of engineering drawings, symbols, and welding specifications.
• NVQ Level 2 or above in Fabrication and Welding desirable.

Responsibilities

• Interpret and work from technical engineering drawings and specifications.
• Fabricate steel structures using MIG/MAG welding techniques (in line with coded welding standards).
• Cut, shape, and assemble metal components using appropriate tools and machinery (e.g., flame cutters, grinders, saws).
• Ensure dimensional accuracy and proper weld integrity of fabricated parts.
• Inspect and test completed welds to ensure compliance with internal and external quality standards.

Requirements

• Proficiency in MIG/MAG welding; Coded welder qualification preferred (or willing to gain certification)
• Strong understanding of engineering drawings, symbols, and welding specifications
• Good manual dexterity, attention to detail, and the ability to work to tight tolerances
• NVQ Level 2 or above in Fabrication and Welding (or equivalent) desirable
