Job summary

The Best Connection is assisting a sustainability-focused client in Leeds to recruit an ELV Operative. You’ll help recover materials from end-of-life vehicles and ensure reuse, repurposing or recycling wherever possible.

Hours: Mon-Fri 07:00–16:30, pay £13.45 per hour. Full training provided, including forklift licence, health and safety, and opportunities to develop industry knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Processing end-of-life vehicles safely and efficiently
• Recovering valuable materials for reuse, repurposing and recycling
• Carrying out vehicle depollution activities
• Operating specialist tools, machinery and equipment
• Completing health and safety checks and assessments
• Supporting production targets and operational efficiency
• Delivering excellent customer service to visitors bringing vehicles for recycling
• Working collaboratively with colleagues to achieve team goals
• Continuously developing new skills and industry knowledge

About the Role

Every vehicle that reaches the end of its life still contains valuable materials that can be recovered and returned to the supply chain. As an ELV Operative, you'll play a vital role in ensuring these materials are reused, repurposed or recycled wherever possible, reducing waste and conserving natural resources.

This is far more than a vehicle dismantling role. You'll become an expert in identifying opportunities to maximise recovery, minimise environmental impact and contribute to our client's sustainability goals.

What You'll Be Doing

As an ELV Operative, your responsibilities will include:
