Job summary

Greencore is seeking a Skilled Machine Operator in Cawood to support the daily production of high-quality, safe products. You will operate and troubleshoot packaging and filling equipment, ensuring line efficiency and adherence to quality standards.

The role requires teamwork, adaptability, and strict attention to health and safety guidelines. Joining Greencore’s Selby area operations, you will work 3 x 12 hour shifts on a rotating schedule, with training expected to lift you to full speed.

Responsibilities

• Ensure the efficient running of the SMI and associated equipment (logopak, spice capper, top tagger, video, pallet stacking).
• Troubleshoot and resolve minor issues (mechanical and procedural).
• Liaise with Area Process Leaders, Line Coordinator, Engineers and Shift Managers.
• Maintain correct glass and caps on the line and capper changeovers when required.
• Support QA and data capture; mentor and train new staff.

Job Description

Days: 06:00 - 18:00, 3 x 12 hour shifts, Monday - Wednesday and Thursday - Saturday (alternating every 6 weeks) Rate of pay - Starting at £15.60ph rising to £16.02ph once trained

What you'll be doing

• Ensure the efficient running of the SMI and any associated equipment; (logopak, spice capper, top tagger, video, pallet stacking)
• To troubleshoot and resolve minor issues (mechanical and procedural)
• To liaise with Area Process Leaders, Line Coordinator, Engineers and Shift Managers
• Ensure the correct glass and caps are on the line
• Ensure the efficient running of the Capper, including assisting in or completing a capper changeover when required
• Consider quality, health and safety issues and the implications at all times
• Work to the "Right First Time" ethos
• Troubleshoot and maintain efficiencies with mechanical and procedural understanding
• Work alongside QA
• Complete data capture
• Resolve minor issues, mechanical and procedural
• Mentor and assist with the training of new staff

What we're looking for

• Experience working with machinery in a manufacturing environment is essential
• Comply with all relevant business and site policies such as Health and Safety and Food Safety standards
• Demonstrate flexibility, adaptability, and teamwork with the ability to work under pressure
• Have the ability to work in a fast-paced environment producing quality and safe products
• Good attention to details
• Have strong and effective communication skills both verbal and written
• Be open to working in a production environment with varying temperatures
• Have a positive attitude and work ethic
