Job summary

Greencore Group in Northampton is seeking a production operative to prepare mixes, operate machinery, and ensure quality and food safety throughout the shift.

You will follow recipes, complete paperwork, and maintain hygiene standards in a fast-paced, cold production environment. Training is provided, with opportunities to grow within a leading UK FMCG employer.

Qualifications

• Good written and verbal English communication skills.
• Good understanding of Health & Safety, Food Hygiene, and Food Safety practices.
• Food Safety Level 2 and Health & Safety Level 2 are advantageous.
• Good attention to detail and the ability to follow recipes, procedures, and instructions accurately.
• Ability to remain calm and work effectively under pressure.

Responsibilities

• Ensure the correct mixes are prepared and ready for the Production lines, including both manual and machine mixing.
• Set up and operate machinery correctly, ensuring it is ready for production and correctly adjusted during changeovers.
• Complete all required paperwork and compliance documentation accurately.
• Carry out regular blade integrity checks and report any issues to the relevant department immediately.
• Thoroughly check recipes and ensure the correct ingredients and mixes are prepared according to specifications.
• Complete all required quality and food safety checks and immediately report any concerns to the Line Coordinator.
• Follow all company procedures, compliance controls, risk assessments, and Safe Systems of Work (SSOW).
• Maintain high standards of Food Safety, Health & Safety, and hygiene at all times.
• Work effectively both independently and as part of a team to meet production requirements.
• Maintain a high level of attention to detail, particularly when working with recipes, machinery, and quality checks.
• Work effectively in a fast-paced production environment, including working under pressure and in cold temperatures.

What we're looking for

• Previous FMCG, food manufacturing, production, or warehouse experience is advantageous, but full training will be provided.
• A good standard of education with strong literacy and numeracy skills.
• Good written and verbal English communication skills.
• Good understanding of Health & Safety, Food Hygiene, and Food Safety practices.
• Food Safety Level 2 and Health & Safety Level 2 are advantageous.
• Good attention to detail and the ability to follow recipes, procedures, and instructions accurately.
• Ability to remain calm and work effectively under pressure.
• Able to communicate and build good working relationships with colleagues and management.
• Ability to work independently using your own initiative, as well as being a strong team player.
• Willingness and ability to work in cold temperatures and a busy production environment.
