Job summary

VanRath is seeking a skilled Labourer to support construction and maintenance projects. You will assist trades, help keep sites safe and organized, and contribute to a variety of activities across multiple sites.

The role requires hands-on experience with hand and power tools, a solid understanding of health and safety, and reliability. A CSR card is preferred where applicable and the ability to work well both independently and as part of a team.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in construction, groundwork, or maintenance roles.
• Proficient with hand tools and power tools.
• Strong understanding of health and safety procedures on-site.
• Physically fit, reliable, and punctual.
• Valid CSR card (where applicable).

Responsibilities

• Support the construction, repair, and maintenance of sites by carrying out practical tasks.
• Assist tradespeople such as carpenters, electricians, bricklayers, and plumbers.
• Safely operate hand tools, power tools, and small plant equipment.
• Prepare work areas through excavation, basic groundwork, or clean-up activities.
• Load, unload, and organise materials and equipment efficiently.
• Follow site drawings, instructions, and safety procedures carefully.
• Maintain a clean, secure, and hazard-free workspace.
• Report defects, hazards, or unsafe conditions immediately.
• Support the team in meeting deadlines and quality standards.
