Job summary

The Compleat Food Group is seeking a Hygiene Operative at our Nottingham site to maintain high standards of cleanliness in a bustling bakery environment. You will perform deep cleaning, dismantle and sanitise equipment, and ensure production areas are prepared for operations.

Ideal candidates have Food Safety Level 2 and Health & Safety Level 2, with experience in hygiene or food manufacturing, good English literacy, and a proactive, team-oriented approach.

Qualifications

  • Clear communication and teamwork skills required.
  • Attention to detail and a can-do attitude.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
  • Good literacy and numeracy; strong English skills.
  • Previous hygiene or food manufacturing experience preferred.
  • Knowledge of production environments desirable.

Responsibilities

  • Carry out deep cleaning tasks across the factory.
  • Dismantle and safely clean machinery and equipment.
  • Pressure wash and sanitize production areas to hygiene standards.
  • Handle and apply cleaning chemicals following COSHH and safety rules.
  • Prepare machinery for cleaning activities and ensure areas are ready for operations.
  • Complete hygiene documentation accurately and on time.
  • Replenish chemicals and maintain cleaning equipment.
  • Report defects, spillages or safety concerns promptly.
  • Support and train colleagues as needed.
  • Follow Health & Safety, GMP and food hygiene procedures.

Working Hours:3 on 3 off 06:00 – 18:00 - 37 hours average per week

What You’ll Be Doing
  • Carry out deep cleaning tasks across the factory

  • Ensure production areas are ready for operations without delays
  • Complete hygiene documentation accurately and on time
  • Replenish chemicals and maintain cleaning equipment
  • Report defects, spillages, or safety concerns promptly
  • Support and train colleagues and new starters when required
  • Follow all Health & Safety, GMP, and food hygiene procedures at all times
