Job summary

The Compleat Food Group is seeking a Senior Warehouse Operative to maintain safe, efficient and accurate warehouse operations. You will support the Shift Team Leader, coordinate goods-in, stock movements, picking and despatch, and ensure food safety and traceability.

We value attention to detail, strong teamwork and the ability to coach colleagues. This role offers early start hours and a days-based pay structure, with opportunities to grow within a fast-moving food manufacturing environment.

Qualifications

  • Experience in warehouse, logistics, despatch or food manufacturing environments.
  • Strong understanding of warehouse operations: goods-in, stock control, picking, despatch.
  • Knowledge of health & safety, food safety and hygiene standards.
  • Experience using warehouse management systems, scanners or stock control systems is desirable.
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to coach and guide colleagues.
  • Flexible, reliable and proactive approach.
  • FLT/pallet truck experience is desirable.

Responsibilities

  • Support the Shift Team Leader in delivering daily warehouse priorities.
  • Coordinate goods-in, stock movements, replenishment, picking and despatch activities.
  • Ensure stock is stored, rotated and handled correctly for food safety and traceability.
  • Complete stock transactions accurately using warehouse systems, scanners and paperwork.
  • Book in deliveries and prepare products for internal and external distribution.
  • Identify and escalate stock discrepancies, shortages or issues.
  • Assist with stock counts, cycle counts and audit preparation.
  • Safely operate warehouse equipment (pallet trucks/FLTs) where authorised.
  • Coach and support warehouse colleagues to maintain standards.
  • Work with Production, Planning, Stock Control, Engineering and Despatch teams.
  • Complete clear shift handovers.

Job Title: Senior Warehouse Operative - Chilled Food Manufacturing

Location: The Compleat Food Group, Queens Drive, Nottingham, NG2 1LU

Working Hours: 0600 - 1800 Wednesday to Saturday, alternating every other week to Thursday to Saturday, averaging 36.75 hours paid.

Pay: £567.28 per week or £15.43 p/h (overtime available at 1.5)

What you'll be doing

As a Warehouse Senior Operative, you'll play a key role in supporting the smooth day-to-day running of warehouse operations. Working closely with the Shift Team Leader, you'll help coordinate activities, maintain high standards and ensure products move safely and accurately through the warehouse.

  • Supporting the Shift Team Leader in delivering daily warehouse priorities
  • Coordinating goods-in, stock movements, replenishment, picking and despatch activities
  • Ensuring stock is stored, rotated and handled correctly to maintain food safety and full traceability
  • Completing stock transactions accurately using warehouse systems, scanners and paperwork
  • Booking in deliveries and preparing products for internal and external distribution
  • Identifying and escalating stock discrepancies, shortages or operational issues
  • Assisting with stock counts, cycle counts and audit preparation
  • Safely operating warehouse equipment, including pallet trucks and FLTs (where authorised)
  • Coaching and supporting warehouse colleagues to maintain consistent standards
  • Working closely with Production, Planning, Stock Control, Engineering and Despatch teams
  • Completing clear and effective shift handovers
What we're looking for
  • Experience within a warehouse, logistics, despatch or food manufacturing environment
  • A strong understanding of warehouse operations, including goods-in, stock control, picking and despatch
  • Good knowledge of health & safety, food safety and hygiene standards
  • Experience using warehouse management systems, scanners or stock control systems (desirable)
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • The confidence to support, coach and guide colleagues
  • A flexible, reliable and proactive approach
  • Pallet truck, pallet stacker or FLT experience (desirable)
