Job summary

Coinford Ltd is seeking experienced Groundwork Handymen for a busy project in New Romney. You will be a skilled all-rounder across pipelaying, drainage, externals and external works within an established gang to deliver high-quality groundworks.

Key responsibilities include using trench boxes, laying pipes to bed and levels, testing installations, managing groundwater and external works such as kerbs and paving. CSCS/NPORS cards and safety training are required; long-term work with weekly pay.

Qualifications

• CSCS Groundworker card or similar qualification.
• CPCS / NPORS (CSCS-affiliated) Forward Tipping Dumper*
• Safety Critical Medical (site specific)
• CAT & Genny Training
• Right to work in the UK

Responsibilities

• Setting up and using trench boxes, drag boxes, manhole boxes and pipe lasers
• Laying concrete, clay and plastic pipes (all sizes) to correct bed, surround and levels
• Ensuring pipes are tested and laid correctly throughout
• Managing groundwater and setting up the correct pump for the task
• Ensuring correct backfilling of trenches
• Benching of all manholes
• External works including kerbs, edgings, slabs and block paving
• Working safely around live services using correct service avoidance techniques
• Carrying out daily pre-start plant safety inspections

Job description

• Ensuring pipes are tested and laid correctly throughout
• Managing groundwater and setting up the correct pump for the task

REQUIREMENTS

• CSCS Groundworker card or similar qualification

• Reliable, punctual and able to work well with other trades
• Right to work in the UK

• Abrasive Wheels Training
• Face Fit Certification
• Harness Awareness Certification
• 5-10+ years of skilled groundworks experience
• Experienced working gangs / teams highly sought after
• Confined Space ticket
