Job summary

Coinford Holdings Ltd. is seeking experienced Groundwork Handymen for a busy project in Harlow. You will join an established team carrying out drainage, piping, deep drainage and external works to a high standard.

The role requires drainage experience, ability to read drawings, and valid CSCS Groundworker and Forward Tipping Dumper tickets. Right to work in the UK is essential, with opportunities for long-term work and progression.

Qualifications

• CSCS Groundworker Card or equivalent required.
• CPCS/NPORS Forward Tipping Dumper Ticket required.
• Proven experience in internal and external drainage.
• Ability to read and understand construction drawings.
• Safety Critical Medical (site specific) required.
• CAT & Genny Training completed.
• Right to work in the UK.

Responsibilities

• Install and maintain internal and external drainage systems.
• Read site drawings, levels and specifications.
• Set up trench boxes, drag boxes, manhole boxes and pipe lasers.
• Lay pipes (concrete, clay and plastic) to bed, surround and levels.
• Ensure pipes tested and installed correctly.
• Manage groundwater and pumping equipment.
• Backfill trenches properly.
• Bench and construct manholes.
• Complete external works: kerbs, edgings, slabs and paving.
• Work safely around live services using service avoidance techniques.
• Carry out daily pre-start plant safety inspections.
• Operate Forward Tipping Dumper when required.

ROLE OVERVIEW

We are looking for experienced Groundwork Handymen to join our team on a busy project in Harlow. Successful candidates will have proven experience in internal and external drainage, be able to read and interpret construction drawings, and hold a valid Forward Tipping Dumper ticket. You will be a skilled all-rounder, working within an established gang carrying out drainage, pipelaying, deep drainage and external works to a high standard.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Installing and maintaining internal and external drainage systems
• Reading and interpreting site drawings, levels and specifications
• Setting up and using trench boxes, drag boxes, manhole boxes and pipe lasers
• Laying concrete, clay and plastic pipes (all sizes) to the correct bed, surround and levels
• Ensuring pipes are tested and installed correctly throughout
• Managing groundwater and setting up the correct pumping equipment for the task
• Ensuring correct backfilling of trenches
• Benching and constructing manholes
• Completing external works including kerbs, edgings, slabs and block paving
• Working safely around live services using correct service avoidance techniques
• Carrying out daily pre-start plant safety inspections
• Operating a Forward Tipping Dumper where required

REQUIREMENTS

• Valid CSCS Groundworker Card or similar qualification
• Valid CPCS / NPORS (CSCS-affiliated) Forward Tipping Dumper Ticket
• Proven experience in internal and external drainage
• Ability to read and understand construction drawings
• Safety Critical Medical (site specific)
• CAT & Genny Training
• Reliable, punctual and able to work well with other trades
• Right to work in the UK

DESIRABLE

• CPCS / NPORS (CSCS-affiliated) Ride-On Roller
• Abrasive Wheels Training
• Face Fit Certification
• Harness Awareness Certification
• 5-10+ years of skilled groundworks experience
• Experience working within established gangs and teams
• Confined Space Ticket
