Job summary

Meritus Talent seeks a Skilled Aircraft Fitter to support an aerospace prime in Filton on a 12-month contract. The role pays £28.87 per hour, with 25% uplift for overtime and 50% uplift for weekends. Must have NVQ 2 and 3 to qualify; standard shift Monday to Thursday, with start date 04/10/2026.

Core hours are 6:30 to 3:45, Monday to Thursday. Responsibilities include reading drawings, using power tools, and completing tasks to high standards within safety guidelines.

Qualifications

• Capable of reading engineering drawings and instructions.

MERITUS are recruiting for a Skilled Aircraft Fitter to join a major aerospace prime in Filton on an initial 12 month contract to support existing programmes.

SKILLED AIRCRAFT FITTER - INSIDE IR35 - £28.87 PER HOUR - 25% UPLIFT FOR OVERTIME - 50% UPLIFT FOR WEEKENDS - 12 MONTHS - FILTON - MUST HAVE NVQ 2 & 3 TO QUALIFY - MONDAY TO THURSDAY - A400M

SKILLED APPRENTICE BACKGROUND

Responsibilities

• Work from engineering instructions and understand Aircraft Drawings
• Complete tasks to the required standards
• General tasks include the use of power tools for drilling, shimming, and sealing
• 1 party certification will be required following successful completion of the relevant courses
• You may need to work in a confined space (tank work), which includes restricted and physically demanding wing access and egress through oval shaped manholes

Skill Set

Essential

• Aerospace or Engineering Full Apprenticeship
• Indenture and City & Guilds Level 2, BTEC ONC or Modern Apprenticeship Certificate, NVQ Level 2, 3, Key Skills level 2 and City & Guilds Level 2/BTEC ONC in a recognised engineering field
• Self-motivation with good communication skills
• An ability to work alone or as part of a team
• An openness to continuous improvement processes and new ways of working
• Knowledge and a high regard for Health and Safety standards
