Description
To manage a team of water meter engineers within the Water Metering contract for STW. To ensure successful delivery of metering projects while maintaining high standards of Customer Service and Health and Safety.
Key Responsibilities
- Organise labour efficiently, including recruitment and absence management.
- Manage resources such as materials and plant.
- Coach and develop staff to reach their potential.
- Conduct team briefings.
- Monitor staff performance according to specifications and instructions.
- Liaise with the client and other stakeholders, including:
- Arranging and attending programme meetings.
- Meeting client requirements cost-effectively.
- Providing progress updates.
- Engaging with councils, surveyors, site managers, and client’s staff as needed.
- Maximise plant and vehicle utilisation.
- Control and reduce wastage of materials.
- Own the overall process—think ahead and implement efficient working methods.
- Manage plant responsibility.
- Liaise with and oversee subcontractors, ensuring compliance with Health, Safety, Environmental, and Quality policies.
Act as a Health & Safety Representative, conducting inspections, raising safety issues, and investigating incidents.Use the GARD system to organise work and reduce costs, ensuring smooth daily operations.Maintain accurate plant sheets and logs.Experience and Qualifications
- Proficient in computer use.
- Experience in Utilities sector.
- Financial and commercial awareness.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Full UK Driving Licence.
