Job summary

Astute People’s Power Team in the Midlands is recruiting a Site Supervisor to join the Mechanical Sub-Contractor on a new build Waste to Energy facility. Initial 3 months outside IR35; day rate £350.00–£400.00.

Qualifications

• Experience supervising mechanical installation teams on heavy industrial construction projects.
• Strong leadership and coordination skills across multiple trades.
• Proven ability to deliver works safely, to programme and to high quality standards.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and coordinate daily site activities across mechanical installation packages.
• Lead teams of welders, pipefitters and mechanical operatives.
• Ensure activities comply with drawings, specs and industry standards.
• Coordinate with the Project Director and client representatives to maintain milestones.
• Conduct toolbox talks and site safety briefings; promote HSE culture.
• Monitor progress and implement corrective actions to stay on track.
• Support permit-to-work, RAMS, lifting operations and isolation procedures.
• Oversee quality inspections and handover through testing and commissioning.
• Maintain accurate site records and progress reports.

Job description

Astute's Power Teamare currently recruiting for a Site Supervisorto join the Mechanical Sub-Contractor on a new build Waste to Energy facility based in the Midlandson an initial 3months basis outside of IR35 (strong potential to be extended past the 3 months).

The Site Supervisor positioncomes with adayrate from £350.00 to £400.00outside of IR35.

Role responsibilities and key skills for the role:

• Supervise and coordinate daily site activities across the steelwork and piping installation packages, ensuring works are delivered safely, efficiently and to programme.
• Lead and oversee teams of welders, pipefitters and mechanical operatives, allocating work, monitoring productivity and maintaining high quality standards.
• Ensure all mechanical installation activities are carried out in accordance with engineering drawings, project specifications and applicable industry standards.
• Coordinate closely with the Project Director,client representatives and other contractors to manage interfaces, resolve technical issues and maintain programme milestones.
• Conduct daily toolbox talks, safety briefings and site inspections, promoting a strong health, safety and quality culture across the workforce.
• Monitor progress against the construction schedule, identify potential delays and implement corrective actions to keep works on track.
• Support permit-to-work, RAMS, lifting operations and isolation procedures, ensuring full compliance with site and company HSE requirements.
• Carry out quality inspections, manage punch lists and oversee the completion of mechanical works through to testing, commissioning and final handover.
• Maintain accurate site records, including daily reports, labour returns, progress updates and material requirements.
• Previous experience supervising mechanical installation teams on conventional power stations, OCGT, CCGT, Energy from Waste or heavy industrial construction projects is highly desirable.

Location, day rate and timeframe of the Site Supervisor position:

• Midlands.
• £350.00 to £400.00 per day (Outside IR35)
• 3 months (Potential for an extension)
