Job summary

Astute People is recruiting a Piping Site Supervisor for a Mechanical Sub-Contractor on a new build Waste to Energy facility in the Midlands. The role is for an initial 3 months outside IR35 with a day rate of £350–£400.

You will supervise mechanical installation teams, coordinate with project directors and client representatives, run toolbox talks, and ensure works are completed safely, to programme and to quality standards.

Qualifications

• Experience supervising mechanical installation teams in heavy industry preferred.
• Strong ability to coordinate welders, pipefitters and mechanical operatives.
• Proven track record delivering works safely, on time and to specification.

Responsibilities

• Supervise daily site activities across piping and steelwork packages.
• Lead and allocate work to crews, monitor productivity and quality.
• Ensure activities comply with drawings, specifications and standards.

Job description

Astute's Power Teamare currently recruiting for a Piping Site Supervisorto join the Mechanical Sub-Contractor on a new build Waste to Energy facility based in the Midlandson an initial 3months basis outside of IR35 (strong potential to be extended past the 3 months).

• The Site Supervisor positioncomes with adayrate from £350.00 to £400.00outside of IR35.

Role responsibilities and key skills for the role:

• Supervise and coordinate daily site activities across the steelwork and piping installation packages, ensuring works are delivered safely, efficiently and to programme.
• Lead and oversee teams of welders, pipefitters and mechanical operatives, allocating work, monitoring productivity and maintaining high quality standards.
• Ensure all mechanical installation activities are carried out in accordance with engineering drawings, project specifications and applicable industry standards.
• Coordinate closely with the Project Director,client representatives and other contractors to manage interfaces, resolve technical issues and maintain programme milestones.
• Conduct daily toolbox talks, safety briefings and site inspections, promoting a strong health, safety and quality culture across the workforce.
• Monitor progress against the construction schedule, identify potential delays and implement corrective actions to keep works on track.
• Support permit-to-work, RAMS, lifting operations and isolation procedures, ensuring full compliance with site and company HSE requirements.
• Carry out quality inspections, manage punch lists and oversee the completion of mechanical works through to testing, commissioning and final handover.
• Maintain accurate site records, including daily reports, labour returns, progress updates and material requirements.
• Previous experience supervising mechanical installation teams on conventional power stations, OCGT, CCGT, Energy from Waste or heavy industrial construction projects is highly desirable.

• Midlands.
• £350.00 to £400.00 per day (Outside IR35)
• 3 months (Potential for an extension)
