Job summary

Balfour Beatty Ground Engineering is seeking a Stores Supervisor to manage the day‑to‑day stores/warehouse operations for the Sizewell C project in Leiston, Suffolk. You will control, store and issue materials, supervise stores staff and ensure compliant, efficient processes on site.

Working on a high-profile infrastructure project, you will maintain stock accuracy, coordinate deliveries and support cost control while promoting safe working practices and teamwork across site teams.

Qualifications

• Strong organisational and planning skills.
• Experience in stores, warehouse, logistics or similar operational environment.
• Understanding of plant, tools, equipment and materials, ideally in construction or piling.
• Experience supervising or leading a small team.
• Confident communication across site teams and stakeholders.
• Good IT skills including stock systems, Excel and Word.
• Proactive workload management, deadlines, accuracy and accountability.
• Awareness of health and safety requirements, with commitment to safe practices.

Responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day stores activities including receiving, storage, issuing and dispatch of materials and plant equipment.
• Maintain accurate stock control with up-to-date inventory records.
• Coordinate deliveries and collections to support site operations and minimise disruption.
• Carry out regular stock checks and investigate discrepancies.
• Ensure stores transactions have correct documentation and audit trail.
• Supervise and coordinate stores personnel and allocate daily tasks.
• Provide training and support to team members to maintain high standards.
• Ensure stores activities comply with health, safety, environmental and compliance requirements.
• Maintain a safe, organised and efficient stores environment.
• Handle, store and dispose of materials according to procedures.
• Liaise with site teams, plant and procurement to ensure materials are available.
• Identify opportunities to improve stores processes and drive efficiency.
