Job summary

Balfour Beatty Ground Engineering in Leiston, Suffolk, is recruiting a Welding and Fabrication Supervisor to lead welding, fabrication and repair activities on heavy tooling and plant for Sizewell C. You will supervise welders, plan workloads and ensure safe, quality work delivering across the site.

You will hold time-served welder/fabricator status with relevant qualification (NVQ Level 3 or equivalent) and experience supervising teams, with strong MIG/MAG skills, ability to read drawings and

Qualifications

• Time-served welder/fabricator with heavy fabrication experience.
• Recognised welding/fabrication qualification (NVQ Level 3 or equivalent).
• Experience supervising welding/fabrication teams.
• Strong MIG/MAG welding, cutting and grinding knowledge.
• Ability to read engineering drawings and repair instructions.
• Knowledge of health & safety requirements for welding and hot works.

Responsibilities

• Supervise welders and fabrication personnel, allocating work and monitoring progress.
• Oversee fabrication, modification and repair work on tooling, piling rigs and heavy plant.
• Apply wear-resistant materials to extend tool life.
• Inspect welding/fabrication work and arrange remedial actions.
• Ensure safe use of welding equipment and tools.
• Plan daily workloads and coordinate with site teams to minimise downtime.
• Maintain accurate fabrication records and quality standards.
• Coach and develop team members; participate in daily briefings.
